Topgolf has been becoming more popular throughout the past five years. But why?
Technology:
Millennials are always looking for new, awesome services, and ways to have a great time. Topgolf provides this by tracking golf balls to evaluate how fast, how far, and how accurate the golf ball goes, which calculates a certain score by those factors.
Entertainment:
Many millennials find golf to be boring. Walking around a golf course for 4-5 hours with 2 or 3 other people and hitting as few shots as possible is not their definition of fun. Topgolf does the opposite by using technology to make golf competitive with scores by shot for each person. You can compete against your group of 5 to 10 people or the entire complex for high score. They have a variety of games, some for how far you can hit the ball, others for how accurate you can hit your shot. Even beginners can compete with regular golfers. They also appeal socially with the colorful venue (shown above), televised sports, alcoholic beverages, and a tasty menu that they bring to your booth. It is like a fun, competitive, happy hour all rolled into one. I played with my friends, siblings, parents, and even my grandfather last summer and we all had a great time.

Topgolf is located in the United States and the UK. 
Topgolf was founded in 2000 by Dave Jolliffe and Steve Jolliffe. Topgolf has made the golf experience no longer restricted to a simple round of golf. They have changed the game of golf by adding technological advances and has expanded the golf business by making it more accessible. This is important because while technology keeps expanding, technology in sports will keep expanding. Topgolf is just a step along the way.
